SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (TCD) -- A middle school teacher was arrested this week on suspicion of child molestation.
According to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, detectives received a report against Samantha Arizabal, a teacher at Ivy Bound Academy, regarding ongoing inappropriate sexual conduct while she worked at the school. Arizabal had reportedly been employed by the school since 2020.
According to Ivy Bound Academy’s website, the public charter school serves grade five through eight.
Arizabal was arrested on Tuesday, March 15, police say. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office reportedly filed multiple felony charges against her.
Police say they’re searching for additional victims in the case.
In a statement, Ivy Bound Academy told KCAL-TV Arizbal’s alleged conduct was "reprehensible and totally contrary to Ivy Bound Academy’s mission, values, and the way we run our schools."
The school added, "Our deepest sympathies go out to the student and student’s family who have been impacted by this."
