Premature baby reportedly found wrapped in towel on woman's car

MANSFIELD, Conn. (TCD) -- State Police are looking for a person who allegedly left a premature baby on top of a woman's car.
According to WTIC-TV, a woman called Connecticut State Police Wednesday, March 23, when she reportedly saw a man leave a child on the hood of her car. When she walked back to her car, she allegedly saw the man get into his car and drive away.
WHNT-TV reports the boy weighed two pounds. Connecticut State Police Sergeant Dawn Pagan reportedly said the man "fled the area in a dark-colored SUV."
According to WHNT, Pagan said the woman called 911 and wrapped the infant in order to warm him. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. Hospital staff reportedly believe the boy is a 28- to 30-week premature baby. WHNT reports the boy was born about nine weeks early.
The man who left the baby is reportedly described as a heavy-set Hispanic man with short black hair. He was reportedly wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and black jogger pants.
