63-year-old woman in assisted-living facility dies after roommate allegedly dumps hot oil on her

ST. LOUIS (TCD) -- A 63-year-old woman reportedly died after her roommate at an assisted-living facility allegedly dumped hot cooking oil on her.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department told KTVI-TV the attack happened on March 7 at an assisted-living facility located in the 5400 block of Thekla Avenue.
After the alleged attack, the victim, Doren Davis, was reportedly transported to a local hospital. She suffered severe burns, KTVI reports. Upon further investigation, authorities reportedly identified Davis' roommate as the suspect.
According to KMOV-TV, the suspect and Davis got into an argument over a personal matter. The suspect eventually admitted to pouring the hot cooking oil on Davis, KTVI reports.
On April 3, Davis reportedly died from her injuries. According to KTVI, the St. Louis Medical Examiner's Office ruled Davis' death a homicide.
Police reportedly did not disclose the suspect's name, but she was arrested and remains held at the Missouri Department of Corrections.
