LEBANON, Mo. (TCD) -- A 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly fatally shooting his 21-year-old girlfriend during an argument.
According to a press release from the Laclede County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday, April 16 at approximately 2:30 p.m., deputies responded to a mobile home in the 28000 block of Sassafras Drive to a report of a woman shot. Upon their arrival, authorities reportedly found the victim, Megan Glasser, dead.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the victim's boyfriend, Dillion Bacon, was arrested at scene where he and Glasser lived. Bacon was reportedly booked into the Laclede County Detention Center on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
The Sheriff's Office says two other people related to Bacon were present at the home when the fatal shooting took place.
According to a probable cause statement obtained by KY3-TV, Bacon told officers he had been arguing with Glasser in a bedroom when he grabbed a gun out of his pocket and waved it. Bacon's girlfriend allegedly yelled at him to put the gun away and then she swiped toward the weapon. The probable cause statement goes on to say Bacon told authorities the gun went off, but he claims he did not fire the gun on purpose.
Glasser and her boyfriend had reportedly argued in the past, resulting in physical altercations. Glasser allegedly endured physical injuries during some of those arguments, but Bacon claims they were never on purpose.
According to KY3, the probable cause statement says Bacon's grandparents told authorities they witnessed their grandson physically assault Glasser in the past and tried to convince her to break up with Bacon.
According to KY3, Glasser's autopsy was scheduled for Monday, April 18.
The investigation remains ongoing, and investigators are still gathering evidence. Bacon remains held without bond.
