QUEENS, N.Y. (TCD) -- A 51-year-old woman was found dead and left inside a duffel back on Forest Hills sidewalk over the weekend with a trail of blood nearby.
According to WPIX-TV, on Saturday, April 16, someone walking on the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Jackie Robinson Parkway called police to report a suspicious duffel bag with blood on it. New York Police Department officers arrived and discovered the body of 51-year-old Orsolya Gaal. She was found about half a mile from her home.
Gaal’s husband and one of her teen sons were reportedly out of town when she was killed, but her other teen son was home. On the night she died, Gaal reportedly told her son she was going out, but police told WPIX that she allegedly went on a date with another man. She was then killed and placed in the duffel bag, according to WPIX. Surveillance footage shared with WPIX shows a person dragging a bag behind them as they wear a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
NYPD officials reportedly told WPIX the suspect texted Gaal’s husband, "Your whole family is next."
According to NBC New York, Gaal’s teen son who lives at their home on Juno Street was reportedly questioned by police and later released. She was reportedly stabbed 58 times on her upper body, including her neck and torso. The medical examiner’s office reportedly determined she died of homicide because of "sharp force injuries of the neck."
No arrests have been made in the case, NBC New York reports.
