Former Texas deputy accused of Tasing her three children

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (TCD) -- A 34-year-old former Precinct 4 deputy stands accused of child abuse after allegedly Tasing her children.
According to KRIV-TV, the alleged abuse occurred on April 4 in the 23900 block of Kuykendahl at an apartment complex, where Xochitl Ortiz reportedly conducted a drive stun with a Taser on her three sons, ages 12, 11, and 8.
Ortiz, who is going through a divorce with her husband, was watching her sons at the time, KRIV reports.
Ortiz is allegedly romantically involved with another Precinct 4 deputy, Christopher Worthington, who was at the scene during the crime. Investigators told KRIV Ortiz used Worthington's Taser in the alleged crime.
Ortiz was charged with three counts of injury to a child under 15, records show. Her bond was recently set at $450,000, according to KPRC-TV.
In a statement to KPRC, Constable Mark Herman with Precinct 4 said, "Any allegation of police misconduct, rather on duty or off, instantly becomes our top priority. Every one of us who puts on this uniform wants to maintain the pride in our agency and our profession and we can only do that by fully investigating any allegations of wrongdoing."
