MIAMI (TCD) -- A 20-year-old rapper was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly fled from police on a Jet Ski, which turned into a chase.
According to WFLA-TV, on Sunday, June 26, a Miami Police officer reportedly noticed Nehemiah Harden, who goes by the rap name SpottemGottem, driving his Jet Ski in a restricted speed zone and performing "S" turns close to anchored boats.
The officer reportedly tried pulling Harden over, but the rapper allegedly sped away, swerving around swimmers and boaters. According to an arrest report cited by WFLA, the officer eventually caught up with Harden and arrested him for a "wanton disregard for the safety of persons and property (boats) at a speed or in a manner as to endanger himself or others."
Miami-Dade County jail records show Harden was booked on charges of fleeing/eluding law enforcement officers on a boat and reckless operation of a boat. He was previously out on bond for aggravated assault with a firearm, accessory after the fact, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
NBC Miami reports Harden was arrested in July 2021 when he was found in an Aventura hotel room on his bed with an AK-47 next to him. The month prior, he allegedly pulled out the semi-automatic rifle and pointed it at a person who tried stopping Harden and his friends when they broke a parking garage gate.
Harden remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
