Human remains found inside missing Florida woman’s car

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (TCD) -- Human remains were discovered inside a 45-year-old missing woman’s vehicle.
According to a press release from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Wendy Hanleck was last seen on June 21 at her home on Arnold Avenue. The Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help in finding her and described that she drives a 2015 silver Chevy Spark.
Approximately a week later, on Wednesday, June 30, the Sheriff’s Office posted an update announcing that Hanleck’s vehicle had been found in North Port. There were reportedly unidentified human remains inside.
According to the North Port Police Department, the vehicle was found just over the Charlotte County line in a rural area off Serris Drive, parked in the woods. Police said this is an active and ongoing investigation.
In a news release from police, authorities said Hanleck was "considered endangered."
