LOS ANGELES (TCD) -- The U.S. Marshals announced that they are offering a reward for information leading up to the arrest of a 19-year-old man released from custody by mistake after allegedly shooting Lady Gaga’s dog walker.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, on February 24, 2021, James Jackson allegedly shot dog walker Ryan Fischer with a .40-caliber handgun. Fischer was reportedly walking Lady Gaga’s three French bulldogs at the time of the incident. Multiple attackers were acting with Jackson, the U.S. Marshals Service said.
After allegedly shooting the dog walker, Jackson and the additional attackers kidnapped two of the dogs. The third dog ran away from the scene.
Fischer was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest, the U.S. Marshals Service said. Fischer survived the attack.
In April, five peopled were reportedly arrested in connection with the attack. Jackson, 19-year-old Jaylin White, and 27-year-old Lafayette Whaley were reportedly charged with one count of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. Jackson was also charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm and a felon carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. White was charged with assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.
Forty-year-old Harold White and 50-year-old Jennifer McBride were each charged with one count of accessory after the fact. Additionally, McBride was charged with one count of receiving stolen property, and Harold was charged with possession of a firearm.
All four of the men are believed to be L.A. gang members.
McBride, who was in a relationship with Harold White, returned the two stolen dogs to an area LAPD station. Lady Gaga initially offered a $500,000 reward for retrieving her dogs "no questions asked," but it is unknown if McBride was given the reward money.
Due to a clerical error, the U.S. Marshals Service said Jackson was released from custody on April 6.
On July 18, the U.S. Marshals Office announced they’re specifically offering up to $5,000 with help in finding Jackson, and they described the suspect as a Black male, with black hair and brown eyes. He reportedly stands at 5 feet and 6 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. Jackson should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact police immediately.
