Idaho mother sentenced to prison after 2-month-old died from skull fracture, brain injury

BOISE, Idaho (TCD) -- A 28-year-old mother was recently sentenced to prison in connection to the death of her 2-month-old son.
According to a news release from the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office, on May 11, 2020, Meridian Police officers responded to Danielle Radue’s home to a report of an unresponsive infant, Dawson. Dawson was reportedly transported to the hospital, where medical personnel determined he suffered severe head injuries, including a skull fracture.
The Prosecutor’s Office said the infant died four days later in the hospital.
On Friday, July 22, Radue was reportedly sentenced to up to life imprisonment with 18 years fixed in prison. Radue will be eligible for parole after that, the Prosecutor’s Office said. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, "Ada County Prosecutors recommended a life sentence with 30 years fixed imprisonment."
In a statement, Ada County Prosecutor Jan M. Bennetts said, "I extend my sincere and deepest condolences to Dawson’s loved ones who suffered a devastating loss."
Bennetts continued, "My team and I take these cases very seriously. I am grateful for the Meridian Police Department’s thorough investigation on this case."
