Homicide investigation underway after body found in Connecticut gazebo

ENFIELD, Conn. (TCD) -- A homicide investigation is underway after the body of a 55-year-old man was discovered in a gazebo.
According to a news release from the Enfield Police Department, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 10, officers responded to the Town Green located at 820 Enfield St., where authorities found the deceased man. Police said they’re working with the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad on the homicide investigation.
In a press conference posted by WFSB-TV, Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox said, "We are comfortable calling it a homicide investigation. I’m not in a position to go into specific details because that has the potential to impact the integrity of the investigation."
Fox also added that authorities are pursuing a number of leads in the investigation.
Police told WFSB the victim was identified as Christopher Kennedy. They did not provide details on how Kennedy died.
Police will reportedly be in the area of the town hall for the remainder of Wednesday, Aug. 10.
The investigation remains ongoing.
