Tenn. mother charged with child abuse after 13-year-old disabled son found dead in home

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (TCD) -- A 32-year-old mother faces child abuse charges in connection with the death of her 13-year-old disabled son.
According to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department, on July 6 at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a Virginia Terrace home, where they found the juvenile, Kadaris Maddox, deceased.
Following an August session of a Montgomery County Grand Jury, police said an indictment was issued for Cheyenne Maddox. She was reportedly arrested and booked into Montgomery County Jail on $75,000 bond for aggravated child abuse/neglect/endangerment of a child.
According to WKRN-TV, the victim had cerebral palsy.
At the time of the juvenile’s discovery, Cheyenne Maddox was facing five counts of child abuse for other children in the home, WKRN reports.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
