MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (TCD) -- Three people were arrested after allegedly luring a 24-year-old victim into a hotel for sex before stealing from him and torturing him for hours.
On Friday, Oct. 21, the Murfreesboro Police Department said Jessica Mortensen, 25, contacted the victim, and the two reportedly arranged to meet at a hotel for sex in exchange for $300. Police told WKRN-TV that Mortensen and the victim knew each other from high school.
According to police, the victim and Mortensen met at around 11:30 p.m., and when Mortensen went into the bathroom, two other suspects, Harry Kiningham, 41, and Joshua Frazier, 37, pretended to be police officers from Nashville and approached the victim.
Murfreesboro police spokesperson Larry Flowers told WKRN that they forced the victim to empty his pockets and give them his wallet, debit card, and cellphone.
Police said the victim was ordered to strip naked and provide his bank information. The suspects allegedly brought the victim to a bank at gunpoint, making him withdraw "thousands of dollars."
The victim was dropped off at his home after 10 hours, according to police. On Saturday, Oct. 22, the victim reportedly filed a report.
According to police, Kiningham was arrested at the hotel where the incident occurred and charged with aggravated kidnapping, robbery, extortion, and simple possession of drugs after police found what they believed to be crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.
On Sunday, Oct. 23, authorities reportedly found the victim’s stolen pickup truck at the same hotel. Police said Mortensen and Frazier tried to flee, but Frazier was taken into custody. Mortensen was located in a hotel bathroom, and both were charged with aggravated kidnapping, robbery, and extortion, according to police.
In a statement to WKRN, Flowers said, "This female solicited him; yes, he agreed, but in this particular case our obligation is to this victim."
Flowers continued, "He was robbed, tortured, held against his will for hours, so clearly he is the victim in this case."
Frazier, Mortensen, and Kiningham were reportedly booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on $33,500 bond.
