According to the Journal-News, one family member said the neighbor had "come over multiple times making statements. He’s insane."
The victim’s wife reportedly heard gunshots and told the dispatcher, "I look in the backyard and that man is walking away from my husband, and my husband is on the ground." The wife added, "He has come over like four times confronting my husband because he thought he was a Democrat. Why? Why? … Please, I don’t understand."
The Sheriff’s Office said Combs was arrested and charged with murder. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible. Combs remains held on $950,000 bond, records show.
