MEMPHIS, Tenn. (TCD) -- A 54-year-old woman was arrested and charged after allegedly lighting a house on fire during a dispute.
According to WREG-TV, on Nov. 4, James Cheney was reportedly watching TV at a home on Burr Road when his friend, who is in a wheelchair, got into a dispute with Pamela West over money owed. West was reportedly a guest at the home.
After the argument, West said, "Have fun getting out the house, (explicative)," and she exited the home, slamming the door behind her, WMC-TV reports.
West allegedly used a cigarette lighter to set fire to a plastic bag of clothing on the porch. There were reportedly four adults and three children inside the home at the time.
According to court documents obtained by WREG, Cheney said West "got mad, she come on outside and we thought she left, but she didn’t leave. She set my whole front porch on fire."
Cheney continued, "She was standing right out here on the corner here watching it and she took off running that way. She said, 'I hope you all burn.' That’s what she said."
Officers reportedly responded to the home, but West was not there. She was eventually located and taken into custody.
West was booked into Shelby County Jail on $30,000 bond and charged with aggravated arson, records show.
All of the residents of the home were able to safely exit, including Cheney’s three young grandchildren, who were sleeping at the time, WREG reports.
