NAUGATUCK, Conn. (TCD) -- A 31-year-old man was apprehended about two weeks after he allegedly stabbed his 11-month-old daughter to death.
On Nov. 18, Naugatuck Police Department officers were called to a residence on Millville Avenue and found a young girl deceased. Police identified the suspect as Christopher Francisquini and said he was believed to be traveling in a Chevrolet Impala. The department released several photos of him and urged the public to be on the lookout.
The medical examiner ruled the death of infant victim, Camilla, was a homicide and determined she died from neck compressions and stab wounds. Her body had also been dismembered.
Two days later, the Naugatuck Police Department obtained a warrant to arrest Francisquini on charges of murder with special circumstances and risk of injury to a minor. The FBI joined the department in the search and offered $10,000 in reward money for information leading to his arrest.
Naugatuck Police announced Dec. 2 that Francisquini was located in Waterbury, Connecticut, after a man believed he saw Francisquini sitting at a bus station.
The man called Waterbury Police, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Dashcam footage from the Waterbury Police Department shows several cop cars outside a bus stop and officers telling Francisquini to get on the ground.
According to the arrest warrant published by WFSB-TV, parts of Camilla’s body "had been separated from the main torso area."
Her right arm reportedly "had been completely severed at the shoulder and was laying on the carpet by the child’s facial area."
Camilla’s left arm was "partially severed but still connected."
She also suffered cuts all over her body and had been disemboweled.
Francisquini allegedly got into arguments with his girlfriend and family members on the same day Camilla was found dead. In honor of Camilla’s memory and what would have been her first birthday, members of the Naugatuck community wore pink.
Francisquini is being held on $5 million bond.
