OMAHA, Neb. (TCD) -- A 47-year-old man wanted in connection with a missing woman was located and taken into custody in Belize this week.
Forty-three-year-old Cari Allen was reported missing to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 20, and was last seen Nov. 19 at approximately 11 p.m.
While investigating her disappearance, detectives identified Aldrick Scott as a person of interest, and traveled to Topeka, Kansas, to find him. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office detectives worked with the Topeka Police Department to locate Scott but soon learned he boarded a plane and left the United States.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Scott’s arrest for kidnapping.
On Tuesday, Dec. 6, members of the U.S. Marshals and Metro Fugitive Task Force took Scott into custody in Belize. He will reportedly have an extradition hearing this week.
Although Scott was located and arrested, officials are still searching for Allen.
According to WOWT-TV, law enforcement officials have looked in a landfill, her former home, and other locations for her.
WOWT reports Scott, who formerly served in the Marines and the Army, has already left Belize and was flown to Houston. He will then have to be extradited from Houston back to Nebraska.
