BUCKEYE, Ariz. (TCD) -- Police announced they arrested the adoptive mother of a 10-year-old boy who went missing in 2016 and whose remains were later found near a highway.
Jesse Wilson was reported missing to the Buckeye Police Department on July 18, 2016. He was last seen in his bedroom at about 9:30 p.m. the night prior. Police said at the time they determined he left the house through his bedroom window and disappeared.
The search for Jesse continued over the next several months and years. On March 8, 2018, a municipal employee from Buckeye reportedly found partial skeletal remains on State Route Highway 85 and Broadway Road. Buckeye Police and law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and searched the area, where they found additional remains. Officials positively identified the bones as Jesse’s.
According to AZFamily.com, his death was listed as "undetermined."
On Tuesday, Dec. 13, police in Georgia took Jesse’s adoptive mother, Crystal Wilson, into custody for abandonment or concealment of a dead body. Buckeye Chief of Police Larry Hall said in a news conference she will be extradited to Maricopa County for prosecution.
