Kansas man allegedly held 2 people hostage in apartment and raped woman

TOPEKA, Kan. (TCD) -- A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged after allegedly holding two people hostage and raping a woman.
According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, authorities responded to an apartment complex east of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library to a report of victims being held against their will. At the scene, officers reportedly found a man suffering from facial injuries fleeing the building.
Inside the building, authorities allegedly found a woman who had been beaten and sexually assaulted. However, the suspect had already fled, the Topeka Capital-Journal reports.
Upon further investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Christopher Aaron Kuone. He was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on Dec. 8 on charges of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, sexual extortion, aggravated intimidation of a witness, aggravated battery, criminal threat, and criminal damage to property, records show.
Kuone remains held on $1 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 22.
According to KSNT-TV, authorities identified Treyvion Coplin as a second suspect. It is alleged that he participated in the assault of the female victim. He was reportedly charged with aggravated criminal sodomy on Dec. 15.
Coplin’s bond was also set at $1 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 29.
