WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (TCD) -- A 41-year-old man stands accused of incest and impregnating a child after allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions.
According to WPLG-TV, the victim went to St. Mary’s Medical Center after experiencing abdominal pain. There, she reportedly took a pregnancy test and discovered she was approximately six weeks pregnant.
The 13-year-old girl told hospital staff that she had been raped by Jean Innocent on four different occasions, WFLA-AM reports.
The victim reportedly said that in November, Innocent entered her room, pulled down her pants, and told her "give me 10 minutes" before he assaulted the girl.
Innocent allegedly stopped and said "never mind" after the girl said "no" and cried.
While at the hospital, the victim reportedly told Innocent she had been vomiting and that they were going to give her a pregnancy test.
According to WPLG, Innocent told the girl to decline the pregnancy test, and he "began making up a story to tell about a relationship with a boy name 'Semen.'" He also reportedly told the girl that he would go to jail if she told on him.
Innocent was interviewed and allegedly told detectives that "voodoo" caused him to rape the girl, and he only recalled assaulting the victim on two different occasions instead of four.
According to WPLG, Innocent said that the first time he raped the girl was in his bedroom and it only lasted for "a few seconds." Innocent said during the second occasion, he told the girl he needed "10 minutes" and said, "This is the last time I’m going to ask."
Innocent was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Dec. 19, records show. Innocent faces multiple charges, including sexual battery with a child, incest, and impregnation of a child. He remains held without bond.
