TULSA, Okla. (TCD) -- A suspected "porch pirate" was caught in a bind over the weekend when he was arrested for allegedly stealing someone else’s property.
According to Tulsa Police, on Jan. 6, officers from the Riverside Division Street Crimes were informed about a porch pirate near 8100 S. Maybelle Ave. Police obtained surveillance footage and noticed the alleged porch pirate wearing a woman’s red thong as a mask.
An officer from the Street Crimes division reportedly recognized the suspect from similar incidents also involving a man wearing underwear on his head. Tulsa Police called it an "unusual and questionably effective mask."
After identifying the suspect as Spencer Gougler, Tulsa Police officers went to his residence and knocked on the door. Police saw him inside, but Gougler "remained inside the residence and would not talk with officers."
Officers reportedly contained the house and obtained a search warrant.
Once the warrant was signed and announced, Gougler reportedly opened the door and exited.
He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on Jan. 7 just after midnight on five counts of larceny, knowingly concealing stolen property, and grand larceny. Records show he bonded out later that day.
