Convicted felon arrested after allegedly killing 12 puppies in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (TCD) -- A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly fatally shooting 12 puppies.
On Friday, Jan. 27, the dogs’ owner noticed "a large amount of blood" in an outbuilding on his property in the 1800 block of Dry Ridge Road in Eastview and alerted Kentucky State Police, WHAS-TV reports.
Witnesses reportedly told police that Tristan Hollin "killed the dogs earlier in the day," and he "claimed to have a gun."
According to WAVE-TV, officers executed a search warrant on the property and found Hollin in a bedroom, and he was taken into custody.
When officers searched the outbuilding, they reportedly found three puppy corpses inside a plastic container, as well as a pile of dirt.
Hollin eventually admitted to fatally shooting the puppies, and he said he buried them near where the three puppies were found, WHAS reports.
After killing the puppies, Hollin allegedly gave the gun he used to his uncle who lived next door.
Hollin was arrested and booked into the Hardin County Detention Center on charges of possession of firearm by convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, cruelty to animals, and probation violation, according to the Hardin County Detention Center website. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3.
Past records show Hollin was convicted of third-degree burglary, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, and criminal mischief in 2019. He was also convicted of receiving stolen property in 2018.
