Maryland man arrested in Missouri after allegedly killing ex and dumping her body

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (TCD) -- A 30-year-old man was recently arrested in Missouri in connection with the death of his 20-year-old missing ex-girlfriend, whose body was found in a park last month.
The victim, Keylin Yolibeth Chavez-Dominguez, was last seen on Dec. 30, 2022, at her apartment on Braxfield Court, and she was officially reported missing on Jan. 2. On Jan. 28 shortly after 2 p.m., Montgomery County Police, Maryland-National Capital Park Police, and Maryland Transportation Authority Police reportedly found Chavez-Dominguez’s body at Upper Paint Branch Stream Valley Park.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, detectives identified the suspect as Francisco Ramon Lara Garcia. Police said they were living together at the time of the victim’s disappearance.
Lara Garcia was reportedly found and arrested at a home in Kirkwood, Missouri, on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Earlier this week, police said he was charged with first-degree murder and is awaiting extradition back to Maryland.
The victim, Chavez-Dominguez, allegedly moved to the United States from Honduras and worked to help provide for her family back home.
