AUSTIN, Texas (TCD) -- A 23-year-old man is accused of killing his elderly neighbor on his 81st birthday earlier this month.
On Saturday, Feb. 18, the Austin Police Department received a call from an individual who had not heard from Leonard Foster for several days. The individual reportedly went to Foster’s home and noticed that the door was open, but his vehicle was not there.
According to police, the caller told dispatchers they saw Tamorian Moore driving Foster’s car and carrying trash bags from the victim’s home.
Police responded to Foster’s home on Royal Crest Drive, but they did not find him. Foster’s body was later found in Moore’s apartment, and he was pronounced dead at around 11:37 p.m., police said.
The next day, Feb. 19, an autopsy report reportedly confirmed Foster died of blunt force trauma, and he also suffered cuts on his body.
Police identified Moore as the suspect, and according to KTBC-TV, Moore told investigators his elderly neighbor was trying to seduce him. Moore reportedly believed "Lucifer" killed Foster, but he told police he didn’t know what happened or how "Lucifer" killed Foster because he blacked out.
Police said Moore was booked into the Travis County Jail for first-degree murder.
