BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (TCD) -- A 36-year-old man is behind bars after authorities allege he shot and killed his 15-year-old daughter, her mother, her grandmother, and another man while two young children were at home.
In a news briefing Wednesday, March 1, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said a young child inside the home on Alan Shepard Avenue in Canaveral Groves called someone via video and told them about the shooting. That person stayed on the video chat with the child until they arrived, and called 911 at approximately 1:55 a.m.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found three females and one male deceased inside the residence. In an update later that day, Ivey identified the four victims as 63-year-old Glenda May Terwilliger, 36-year-old Michael Andrew Watson, 35-year-old Constance Marie Terwilliger, and 15-year-old Kiarra Terwilliger.
A 6-year-old and 9-year-old were also in the home at the time of the killings, and they were unharmed.
Brevard County deputies arrested Domenico Gigante on four counts of premeditated first-degree murder.
Gigante and Constance Terwilliger used to be in a relationship, and he is Kiarra’s father.
Ivey called Gigante an "extremely violent individual with an extremely violent past."
His rap sheet goes back to 2005, when he was arrested for domestic violence and battery. Other charges in the past include cruelty to animals, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault.
According to Gigante’s arrest affidavit, the surviving children phoned Constance Terwilliger's boyfriend, who rushed over to the house on Alan Shepard Avenue. Glenda and Kiara Terwilliger were both shot in their bedrooms, while Constance and Watson died next to each other on the living room floor.
The affidavit said Gigante "had been trying to reconnect with his daughter, however, his daughter had refused to have a relationship with him."
Deputies went to Gigante’s residence in Rockledge and found him "throwing items into a trash can."
Gigante allegedly told his roommate he shot his daughter three times, and a few hours before the shooting, "expressed his frustrations regarding his situation with his biological daughter and her family."
The roommate said Gigante told him, "I guess I’m going to go over and kill them all."
He’s being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond.
