GREENFIELD, Mass. (TCD) -- A 32-year-old family doctor faces charges after authorities reportedly seized nearly 80 devices from two of his homes containing child pornography.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, on Feb. 13, investigators searched Bradford Ferrick’s Winchester home, where they found and seized "61 devices –– including external hard drives, computers, cellphones, hidden camera systems, and SD cards" containing "thousands of images and videos of suspected child pornography."
Ferrick was subsequently arrested and released from home confinement after posting bail.
Several days later, on Feb. 17, the Attorney’s Office said investigators searched Ferrick’s Winchester home a second time and located 11 more devices with pornography depicting children who appeared to be around the ages of 6 to 11.
Investigators reportedly searched Ferrick’s Amherst home on Feb. 21 and seized eight devices, "including multiple hidden camera devices."
The Attorney’s Office alleged that one of the hidden camera devices was a bracelet, and it reportedly showed Ferrick "administering medical exams" and depicted two minor patients.
The Attorney’s Office said Ferrick was arrested on Tuesday, March 14, and charged with possession of child pornography. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
In July 2022, Ferrick reportedly began a medical residency at Baystate Franklin Family Medicine, focusing on family medicine, and he worked at various locations, including Greenfield, Deerfield, and Springfield.
In a statement, Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said, "Today, the FBI arrested Dr. Bradford Ferrick, a resident doctor with access to children, who now stands accused of extremely troubling behavior."
Bonavolonta continued, "This is very much an active investigation and we urge anyone with information to contact us. Thanks to our close collaboration with our law enforcement partners, we are grateful to have been able to put a stop to Dr. Ferrick’s alleged conduct."
