CLEVELAND (TCD) -- A man was arrested last week after police found a woman severely injured and left inside a small storage tote in the city’s West Boulevard neighborhood.
According to the police report cited by WOIO-TV, on May 2 at 3:30 p.m., Cleveland Police received a call from a woman who said there was a woman bound in a basement at a home on the 3100 block of West 97th Street. Officers responded to the residence and met Delontay Edmond-Geiger, who eventually let police go to the basement.
Officers searched the lower level of the home and saw an air mattress but nothing else.
Later that evening, Cleveland Police reportedly spoke with a woman in the area and asked if she knew about Edmond-Geiger’s home, and the woman reportedly said he previously attacked her inside. The woman allegedly showed officers photos of her own assault.
WOIO reports police went back to Edmond-Geiger’s home a little after midnight on May 3. An officer was in the living room and reportedly heard a moaning sound. Edmond-Geiger allegedly increased the volume of radio playing on his phone whenever the sound of the moan came through the house.
The police officer reportedly questioned him, and he eventually told the officer there was a woman under the porch in a storage container.
According to WOIO, the officer found the woman "stuffed and folded into a small, black tote." She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after reportedly having been stabbed and beaten.
Cleveland Municipal Court records show Edmond-Geiger was arrested on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence.
He is being held on $50,000 bond and is ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
In January, Edmond-Geiger was charged with receiving stolen property.
