SANTA MONICA, Calif. (TCD) -- The founder of Sober Grid Inc. was recently found dead in the courtyard of an abandoned property.
The Los Angeles Police Department announced Dec. 27, 2021, that Beau Mann was reported missing after family members last made contact with him via phone on Nov. 28, 2021. He was reportedly last seen at a convenience store on the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard in Studio City on Nov. 30, 2021, and hadn’t been seen or heard from since.
According to the Santa Monica Daily Press, while Mann was at the convenience store, a 7-Eleven, he allegedly texted 911 and said he was in an Uber, but he didn’t detail why he was messaging law enforcement or reply to their follow-ups.
The Santa Monica Daily Press reports that Uber indicated he was dropped off on Berkeley Street but had no records after that.
Recently, on April 25, the Santa Monica Police Department said remains were found in the courtyard of an abandoned property on the 2900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office positively identified the remains as those of Mann on May 6 and will determine his cause of death.
Mann was the founder of Sober Grid, the "leading digital behavioral health solution with proven outcomes for addiction recovery."
In a statement, the team said, "Beau built an amazing company and led a phenomenal team of talented individuals. The Sober Grid team continues to work diligently to protect his legacy and continue our Mission."
