NAPLES, Fla. (TCD) -- Deputies arrested a 34-year-old man this week on suspicion of killing his grandmother and severely beating his grandfather.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, May 17, Anthony Corrado called a housekeeper "to help him clean up" a home on 16th Street Northeast. The housekeeper responded to the home and reportedly noticed Corrado was covered in bloodstains.
Corrado led the housekeeper to a bedroom, where she saw the deceased female victim. The housekeeper "left the residence under the pretense she needed to get cleaning supplies from her car," the Sheriff’s Office said. Instead, she was able to flag down a Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Deputies responded to the home, and according to WBBH-TV, the female victim was found with a bag over her head.
The Sheriff’s Office said they found a "male victim in another room wrapped in a blanket with severe head injuries." He was transported to a trauma center via helicopter.
Inside the kitchen, the Sheriff’s Office recovered a blood-covered hammer on a countertop. There was also reportedly blood along the walls and floors inside the home.
Sheriff’s Office deputies located Corrado "standing outside the residence with blood on his clothing." He was booked into the Collier County Jail for second-degree murder and aggravated battery on a person over the age of 65 and is scheduled to appear in court on June 12.
A neighbor told WBBH that Mary and Tony Schiavone lived at the home, and Mary Schiavone reportedly filed an order of protection against Corrado in 2018 due to domestic violence.
