Ariz. man accused of shooting Little Caesar’s co-worker at least 12 times, stomping on his head

GLENDALE, Ariz. (TCD) -- A 40-year-old man was taken into custody last week for allegedly fatally shooting his co-workers a dozen times, then stomping on his head.

According to AZFamily.com, on Friday, June 9, at approximately 11 a.m., Glendale Police went to the Little Caesar’s near 43rd and Peoria avenues after someone called to report Oscar Ocon had shot and killed Fermin Reyna and was hiding in the bathroom. The caller reportedly said the shooting was captured on surveillance footage.

Ocon reportedly exited the bathroom on his own volition and was taken into custody.

Court documents cited by KSAZ-TV report detectives found a firearm in the fast-food chain they believe Ocon allegedly used in the killing. Glendale Police reportedly located 15 shell casings and believe Ocon "did not miss a shot."

Reyna suffered gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

After allegedly shooting him, Ocon also reportedly stomped on Reyna’s head.

Ocon allegedly said he wanted to "kill on site" and that he believed Reyna was "a jerk."

AZFamily.com reports Reyna and Ocon walked to a nearby Target several days before the shooting and Reyna allegedly said something "rude" about the security guard working there. The security guard informed a manager at Target, who then contacted Little Caesar’s. Reyna also allegedly told other co-workers he wanted to shoot Ocon and his family, and one time, Ocon purportedly overheard him make a similar comment.

Ocon allegedly told investigators, "I’m going to take him out before he does me."

According to KSAZ, court documents note that in 2020, Ocon "punched his father so severely that he temporarily lost sight."

He was taken into custody on charges of first-degree murder and disorderly conduct.

KPNX-TV reports Little Caesar’s said in a statement, "We are devastated by this incredibly tragic situation and our hearts go out to the victim’s family. As a family company, our colleagues are central to who we are and remain the most important part of our brand. We are diligently working with local authorities and are unable to comment further at this time."
