LOUISVILLE, Ky. (TCD) -- A 56-year-old man pleaded guilty this week to killing his wife last year and shooting his 11-year-old daughter in the neck.
WAVE-TV reports Ronald Burdette entered the plea Monday, June 26, for one one count each of murder, assault, and wanton endangerment for fatally shooting his wife, Cindy Burdette, and wounding his daughter. Burdette also allegedly shot at his son, but he was not hit.
According to WAVE, prosecutors recommended a sentence of 25 years in prison.
According to WHAS-TV, Burdette shot Cindy in the early morning hours of May 15, 2022, at their home on the 2100 block of Appleton Lane in Shively. The 11-year-old girl and her twin brother reportedly called a relative and told them Burdette shot their mother and was still opening fire inside the home. Burdette fled after the shooting, but he was arrested the next day in Jeffersonville, WHAS reports.
