ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (TCD) -- Officials captured a South Carolina fugitive in Detroit this week who had been on the run for 17 years.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, in 2006, Antran Hall was convicted in his absence for cocaine trafficking and failure to stop for blue lights. Authorities placed him on the Most Wanted list for two failure to appear warrants.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Investigations Unit found out earlier this year that Hall was using an alias in Detroit. The Sheriff’s Office alleges he "lived under a fake identity, even tricking his own wife and children that only knew him by his alias name."
U.S. Marshals assisted in the investigation and narrowed down their search on June 26. Officials took Hall into custody the next day.
Hall remains held in the Wayne County Jail as a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.
