Ala. woman accused of pushing missing woman off cliff and killing her

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (TCD) -- A 45-year-old woman was arrested on a capital murder charge for allegedly killing a missing woman who was last seen at the end of 2021.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Mary "Beth" Isbell’s ex-husband reported her missing to the Hartselle Police Department Dec. 27, 2021, though Hartselle Police said she had not been seen since November. Hartselle Police listed her name as Mary Elizabeth Isbell Wright.
Detectives learned Isbell was living in DeKalb and executed a search warrant on her home and car. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said investigators collected physical evidence from the scene, but none of the leads panned out.
Then, on June 20, DeKalb County investigators received a tip regarding Isbell’s disappearance and found it to be "credible." Deputies arrested Loretta Kay Carr on June 25 on suspicion of capital murder. The other suspect, Jessie Eden Kelly, is reportedly in custody in Pennsylvania and will be extradited to Missouri where she is facing other charges. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office placed a detainer on Kelly for capital murder.
Court documents cited by WHNT-TV allege Carr "intentionally" killed Isbell “by pushing her off of a cliff.”
According to the statement, investigators from several law enforcement agencies discovered human remains at the Little River Canyon National Park and they were sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville. The remains were positively identified June 30, which would have been Isbell’s 39th birthday.
