DALLAS (TCD) -- Police arrested a 25-year-old man this week in connection with the deaths of three women whose bodies were found with stab wounds in open fields this year.
According to a news release from the Dallas Police Department, on April 22, officers found 60-year-old Kimberly Robinson deceased in the 200 block of Santa Fe Avenue. Two months later, on June 24, police located 25-year-old Cherish Gibson’s body in the same area.
Most recently, on July 15, officers reportedly found an unidentified deceased female in the 800 block of Brazos Street.
Upon further investigation, police linked Oscar Sanchez Garcia to all three deaths. According to WFAA-TV, investigators were able to do so using license plate readers, phone records, and data.
Police obtained Sanchez Garcia’s phones records and reportedly learned he was in the area where Robinson’s body was found on the night of April 21 to the morning of April 22.
An affidavit obtained by WFAA alleged his phone was also "moving along the same path" as Gibson’s phone on June 23, a day before the second female victim’s body was found.
According to WFAA, Gibson was last seen alive near an adult bookstore on Harry Hines Boulevard, and police obtained surveillance footage from the business.
Police also reviewed surveillance footage from where Gibson’s body was found, and the video revealed a blue Ford pickup "with distinct stickers on the rear windshield" in both locations. Police learned the vehicle was registered to Sanchez Garcia.
On July 9, the unidentified victim was allegedly on a "date" with someone in a truck on Harry Hines Boulevard near a 7-Eleven store. According to WFAA, a witness said the person in the truck asked the victim for another "date," and that was the last time anyone communicated with the unidentified female victim.
Also on July 9, WFAA reports Sanchez Garcia’s phone was in the same area where the third victim was last known to be alive. Sanchez Garcia’s phone was also reportedly linked to the area where the third victim was found dead.
According to police, investigators believe at least two of the victims have "possible ties to prostitution."
On Wednesday, July 19, police arrested Sanchez Garcia on suspicion of the women’s slayings. He remains held in the Dallas County Jail on three counts of murder with a bond set at $4 million.
