SALEM, Wis. (TCD) -- Deputies are searching for a man accused of setting his girlfriend on fire during an argument over the weekend, leaving her in critical condition.
According to a news release from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday, July 30, at approximately 4:47 a.m., deputies and the Village of Salem Lakes Fire Department responded to a home in the 24500 block of 86th Place in reference to a female who said her boyfriend had set her on fire. First responders transported the victim to a local hospital with severe burns.
Myron Bowie and the victim, his girlfriend, reportedly got into an argument. Bowie allegedly threatened to kill the victim, "her children, and her entire family" before setting the woman on fire and fleeing the scene in a black Cadillac SRX.
The Sheriff’s Department obtained a felony warrant for Bowie’s arrest and believe he is armed and dangerous. Bowie reportedly has ties in the Chicago area, Logan Square, and Wicker Park.
Deputies noted that Bowie is in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall, and weighs around 200 pounds. Anyone with information regarding Bowie’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department.
Friends of the victim told WISN-TV she is a mother and was about to begin a new job.
The investigation is ongoing.
