PORTERDALE, Ga. (TCD) -- Police have announced the arrests of two people allegedly connected to the disappearance and death of a 19-year-old woman missing since 2016.
On Aug. 5, the Porterdale Police Department shared the news that they obtained arrest warrants for Katelyn Goble and Johnathan Alexander Warren in connection with Morgan Bauer’s death. Goble was taken into custody in Peoria, Illinois, on charges of concealing death and tampering with evidence. Police said Warren was arrested in Los Angeles for murder, aggravated assault, concealing death, and tampering with evidence.
In a July 27 press conference, Porterdale Police Sgt. Michael Walden said officials from local and state law enforcement and the FBI obtained a warrant to search a property on South Broad Street after receiving "credible information and evidence gathered during the course of this investigation."
Walden said it was based on "new information that recently came to light."
Video shared by the Porterdale Police Department shows FBI agents and K-9s walking slowly through a grassy area.
After searching the home, investigators reportedly found "items of evidentiary interest" on the large swath of property.
According to WAGA-TV, Bauer moved from her home in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Atlanta in February 2016. Prior to her disappearance, she worked as a dancer at an adult club in Gainesville. She posted on social media Feb. 26, 2016, but was last seen leaving work the night before.
On Aug. 7, Bauer’s mother posted on a Facebook group dedicated to finding her daughter, writing, "What we can not share is speculation. Please understand, legally and currently Morgan is still considered a Missing Person. While we are so grateful that arrests have been made, this is an ongoing investigation. We must move moment by moment."
