DENVER (TCD) -- Police are searching for a woman who fired several shots outside of a Lower Downtown bar after she reportedly could not get in because she was allegedly using someone else’s ID.
On Saturday, Sept. 16, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Denver Police responded to the 1900 block of Market Street regarding a shooting. According to police, five people were standing outside a bar when an unidentified female shot them.
KDVR-TV reports the shooting occurred at Whiskey Row, a gastropub and bar in the city’s Lower Downtown neighborhood that’s owned by country singer Dierks Bentley. Denver Police reportedly said the suspect attempted to get into the bar with someone else’s license, but security would not let her in.
Denver Public Safety executive director Armando Saldate told KDVR, "There seemed to be some sort of confrontation or a fight over that verbal altercation, at which she produced a handgun that was concealed on her person and started shooting."
Police reportedly think the woman "may have been shooting towards the security personnel."
The five victims were all taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
The Denver Police Department is offering up to $2,000 as a reward for identifying the suspect, who was seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black shorts, and blue and black high-top sneakers.
