BALTIMORE (TCD) -- Police are investigating a 26-year-old woman's death as a homicide after she was found dead in her apartment from apparent blunt force trauma.
On Monday, Sept. 25, at 11:34 a.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of West Franklin Street after receiving a call for service and found the victim's body. The Medical Examiner's Office later took possession the victim's body in order to conduct an autopsy. Police said the victim had been reported missing shortly before officers went to the apartment.
Homicide investigators have taken over the investigation.
EcoMap Technologies identified the victim as their "beloved" founder, 26-year-old Pava LaPere. In a statement, the company said, "Her untiring commitment to our company, to Baltimore, to amplifying the critical work of ecosystems across the country, and to building a deeply inclusive culture as a leader, friend and partner set a standard for leadership, and her legacy will live on through the work we continue to do."
LaPere was featured on this year's prominent Forbes 30 Under 30 list due to her work as cofounder of EcoMap Technologies.
