ST. LOUIS (TCD) -- Prosecutors are charging a 31-year-old man with murder after his ex-girlfriend was found dead in Illinois over a week after she went missing.
On Dec. 23, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued an arrest warrant on Trenton Ivy for first-degree murder in connection with Marquisha Williams' death. Williams' family reported her missing to the St. Louis County Police Department on Dec. 20.
Investigators learned Williams was last seen with Ivy in her 2020 Jeep Compass. Ivy was booked into the Racine County Jail in Wisconsin on unrelated charges Friday, Dec. 22, though he was reportedly driving Williams' car. Police said there was "apparent blood and biological material" in the vehicle, as well as some of Williams' personal belongings.
Ivy allegedly confessed to killing 29-year-old Williams during a physical fight in St. Louis. He reportedly also "admitted to disposing of her body in an unknown location."
Illinois State Police reportedly discovered her body on Thursday, Dec. 28, according to KTVI-TV.
Williams leaves behind four children.
