SUGARLOAF, Calif. (TCD) -- Deputies recently arrested a 26-year-old man after he allegedly abducted a teen, held the juvenile hostage for days, and forced her to have sex with him.
According to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, on Thursday, March 7, at approximately 4:48 p.m., deputies from the Big Bear Lake Sheriff's Station responded to the 40700 block of Village Drive after a 17-year-old female had escaped Zackary Dourousseau's locked car while the man was at work.
Deputies allege on March 1, around 8 p.m., Dourousseau picked up the juvenile and drove her to his home. He reportedly requested sex from her, but she refused. Dourousseau allegedly held the teen hostage in his home for almost a week, the sheriff's department said.
Dourousseau reportedly failed to provide the victim with adequate food and water. According to deputies, he wouldn't allow the victim to leave and forced her to "consume large amounts of alcohol." Dourousseau allegedly "forced the victim to have sex with him in exchange for her freedom."
The sheriff's department alleges Dourousseau brought the girl with him when driving to work and held her inside his locked vehicle during the day. The victim reportedly escaped and went to a local business seeking help, prompting employees to call the sheriff's department.
Deputies located Dourousseau at his home in the 300 block of Los Angeles Avenue and took him into custody. He was booked into the Big Bear Jail and charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and statutory rape. Dourousseau is set to appear in court on March 18.
