Adoptive parents accused of abusing, torturing, and killing 10-year-old boy

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (TCN) -- Two parents face charges after allegedly abusing and torturing their young son, leading to his death last week.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, on Nov. 21, deputies responded to a home on Malibu Court in reference to a 10-year-old boy in medical distress. The child was transported to a local hospital, and investigators determined he likely suffered neglect and abuse.
Deputies said the boy's health declined several hours later, and he was pronounced deceased.
Authorities arrested the victim's adoptive parents, 51-year-old Alejandra Marin and 59-year-old Juan Moreno, on charges of murder, torture, and child abuse. They remain held in the Riverside County Jail on $3 million bail each and are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
