SANTA ROSA, Calif. (TCN) -- Police are investigating a quadruple homicide after four adults were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in their home this week.
The Santa Rosa Police Department said in a statement that on Wednesday, Jan. 8, the boyfriend of one of the victims contacted police and asked them to conduct a welfare check at a home on Monarch Court because he had not heard from his significant other in several days. Officers went to the residence but were unable to make contact with any of the occupants. They forced entry through a window and discovered the four victims deceased in different parts of the house.
Santa Rosa Police said all "appeared to have significant gunshot wounds."
According to police, officers also found a semi-automatic handgun near one of the four decedents. Police identified the victims as a 33-year-old female, 28-year-old male, 67-year-old female, and 67-year-old male. They are believed to be related. The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office will conduct autopsies and positively identify them.
Investigators executed a search warrant in San Jose because it was "linked to one of the decedents."
Police do not believe there is a threat to the public.
According to The Press Democrat, the victims lived in a senior community and moved in to help take care of a grandmother.
