MANSFIELD, Texas (TCN) -- A 66-year-old psychologist who previously worked with children at a school district will spend over three decades behind bars for possessing child pornography.
The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office announced Feb. 3 that Christian Rewoldt pleaded guilty to five counts of child pornography. The court subsequently sentenced him to seven years for each count for a total of 35 years in prison.
Prosecutors said Rewoldt worked for Crowley Independent School District as a psychologist for children with special needs.
According to the Mansfield Police Department, on Aug. 30, 2023, the SWAT team executed a search warrant at Rewoldt's home after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, suggesting Rewoldt had downloaded explicit sexual material involving children. Authorities found electronic devices with suspected child abuse material at the defendant's home.
Police said they did not find evidence of inappropriate contact while Rewoldt worked at Crowley Independent School District.
