MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (TCN) -- An Amish man stands accused of killing a 28-year-old woman who was found deceased inside her home nearly two months ago.
According to Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch, on March 13, deputies responded to Dye Road in reference to a suspicious death. Officials found Rosanna Kinsinger deceased and sent her body to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The autopsy results were "inconclusive."
Upon further investigation, the sheriff’s office identified Samuel Hochstetler as a person of interest in Kinsinger’s death. On May 5, he was taken into custody and interviewed. Hochstetler was subsequently arrested and booked into the Gallia County Jail on a charge of murder.
Mose Troyer, a member of the local Amish community, told WSAZ-TV that Hochstetler is from Kentucky but had been residing with him for a few months. Troyer reportedly said that the community hadn’t seen Kinsinger all day on March 13, so he went to find her. He allegedly discovered the victim deceased in her home alongside her goat and called law enforcement.
In a statement, Fitch said, "This case was such a tragedy to those who knew Rosanna. She was a beloved individual in her community."
