MILFORD, N.H. (TCN) -- Authorities recently arrested a 39-year-old man in Massachusetts on suspicion of killing his father over two decades ago.
According to the New Hampshire Department of Justice, on Aug. 27, 2003, police found the decomposing body of 50-year-old Paul Herlihy during a welfare check at his home.
Authorities determined Herlihy was killed inside his residence sometime between Aug. 23, 2003, and Aug. 27, 2003. An autopsy revealed he died of blunt force trauma, and his death was ruled a homicide.
Recently, on June 16, officials issued a warrant for the arrest of the victim’s son, Douglas Herlihy, on a charge of second-degree murder. The following day, Herlihy was arrested in Saugus, Massachusetts, and remains held without bail. The suspect will be extradited to New Hampshire.
