HOUSTON (TCN) -- A man is in custody after allegedly beating another man to death with a TV and rolling his body to a bus stop in a wheelchair.
The Houston Police Department announced they arrested 44-year-old Carl Taylor on Nov. 25 in connection with a body found at a bus stop. The victim, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene and reportedly had suffered multiple injuries. The victim was believed to be homeless, WKRC reports.
The Houston Chronicle reports a security guard at the apartment building where Taylor resides allegedly spotted him wheeling the body off the property. Security footage from the complex, which serves disabled adults and low-income seniors, confirmed this, according to WKRC.
Court documents obtained by the Houston Chronicle say police found evidence of the alleged killing inside Taylor’s apartment. This includes a broken TV with blood on it, drag marks consistent with moving a body, and bloody towels. The manner and cause of death are pending.
Taylor was charged with murder and evidence tampering in connection with the death, according to police. A financial affidavit obtained by the Houston Chronicle alleges Taylor does not work and has a history of mental health issues.
In addition, Taylor’s criminal history includes charges for robbery and assault, according to KTRK. He is being held on a $130,000 bond and will appear in court in February 2026.
