NEW YORK (TCN) -- A woman has been charged in connection with the death of her 1-month-old child after he was found dead in a duffel bag in their Brooklyn home, according to authorities.
WABC reports that Gynae Kendall, 25, was charged with concealment of a human corpse after the body of her son was discovered.
On Jan. 24, the maternal grandmother of 1-month-old Adonnys Kendall called the police to request a wellness check. She had not seen him for some time and had grown worried, the New York Post reports. Officers found the infant inside a duffel bag in a closet, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There were reportedly no signs of trauma.
According to the New York Post, Kendall refused to cooperate with authorities. The father of Adonnys Kendall, who has not been named by authorities, has not been charged.
WABC reports that cause of death is pending; a medical examiner will also determine how long Adonnys Kendall was dead before he was discovered. The New York Post reports that autopsy results will determine whether Kendall will face additional charges.
