Missing 83-year-old man with dementia fatally stabbed after allegedly breaking into home

PITTSBURGH (TCN) -- A man who was reported missing on Feb. 6 was found stabbed to death inside a home the following day, according to authorities.
WTAE reports that just before 8 a.m. on Feb. 7, police were called to a home for a report of a stabbing. Responding officers found the body of Lester Bridges, 83. Police interviewed the homeowner, who alleged Bridges broke into his home at around 2 a.m. The homeowner then allegedly stabbed him. Homicide detectives were called to the scene, but no charges have been announced. The homeowner’s name has not been released.
According to police, Bridges was reported missing after leaving his home to repair his truck and then walking away, WTAE reports. He was in the early stages of dementia.
The investigation is ongoing.
