Former Chick-fil-A employee allegedly stole $80,000 in phony mac and cheese refund scheme

GRAPEVINE, Texas (TCN) -- A former Chick-fil-A employee is facing property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest charges after police say he stole more than $80,000 in a phony refund scheme.
WTVT reports that in November 2025, the owner of a Chick-fil-A reported a theft to police, who began an investigation. In reviewing restaurant security footage, they identified 23-year-old Keyshun Jones as the suspect. Jones had reportedly been fired the month prior and allegedly went behind the counter without permission to use the cash register to ring up orders of macaroni and cheese. He would then allegedly refund the cost of the dish to his own personal credit cards. According to police, these phony refunds totaled over $80,000.
WTVT reports that Jones avoided arrest several times until apprehended on April 17 and taken into custody. NBC News reports that it is unknown why Jones was fired.
The investigation is active.
