N.J. woman allegedly sexually assaulted 2-year-old, recorded it on Snapchat

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. (TCN) -- A 25-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 2-year-old child that was recorded and saved to Snapchat memories on her iPhone.

Victoria Cranmer was arrested on July 8 in connection with the alleged incident and corresponding video, the Asbury Park Press reports. According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Cranmer allegedly assaulted the 2-year-old, who was in diapers at the time, in May. 

Cranmer was staying with the victim’s family, per the Asbury Park Press. She needed somewhere to live, and the child’s parents let her stay with them for about three months. She would often watch the victim while the family was in the house busy with other things, and they gave her an iPhone in April for her birthday. When Cranmer moved out of their home, they requested she return the iPhone.

The victim’s family found the video content on the phone, prompting a police investigation. People reports the investigation began on May 28. 

The alleged perpetrator in the video was determined to be Cranmer based on distinctive tattoos and her voice, according to the Asbury Park Press.

People reports multiple Snapchat videos were found allegedly involving Cranmer and the child. In one video, Cranmer allegedly exposed her genitals to the child while seated on the toilet and had the child touch her as she laughed. 

According to court records obtained by the New York Post, in addition to the victim in the Snapchat videos, Cranmer would also allegedly babysit the child of a family friend and take baths with him. The outlet reports that the child began to dislike the bathtub after allegedly spending time with Cranmer.

Cranmer was arrested and charged July 7 with endangering the welfare of a child, manufacturing child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the New York Post.

According to People, Cranmer is being held without bail.
